1.Welcome to the ODA network
ODA network drivers pick up orders from local shops and suppliers and deliver them to buyers and businesses. Every delivery shows a fixed rate by zone before you accept it, and 70% of every delivery fee is yours.
You are an independent contractor: you choose your hours and which deliveries you accept. Your agreement is non-exclusive and there is no minimum number of jobs.
| At a glance | |
|---|
| Approval | 1-3 business days, including a background check |
| Your share | 70% of every delivery fee, in every zone |
| Payment | Every Monday, by direct deposit |
| Active zone | West Island (Laval and downtown Montreal coming soon) |
2.Your journey in 4 steps
1. Apply. During beta, use the personal link in your invitation email, with the email address the invitation was sent to. Enter your contact details, date of birth, licence (front and back), vehicle type and availability, and consent to a background check.
2. Review (1-3 business days). Our team reviews your application and runs the background check. You follow the progress in your dashboard.
3. Training. Work through the training modules in your driver dashboard.
4. Deliver. Accept the deliveries that suit you; your earnings are paid every Monday.
3.What to have ready
- Be 18 or older
- If your vehicle requires one, a valid Quebec driver's licence of the appropriate class (Class 5 for a car or passenger van)
- Insurance that fits your vehicle. Motor vehicle that must be registered: insurance covering commercial use (automobile liability and cargo/civil liability, minimum $1,000,000); a personal policy usually excludes delivery work, so check with your insurer before applying. Other vehicle (for example a bicycle, an e-bike or an e-scooter that does not require registration): civil liability insurance covering your deliveries, in the amount shown in the ODA.
- An eligible vehicle: bicycle, e-bike, e-scooter, car or van for B2C orders (up to 15 kg); van or small truck for B2B distribution (up to 25 kg regularly)
- A smartphone with a browser and mobile data: your dashboard runs in the browser, no app to download
- A Canadian bank account for direct deposit
Upload your licence, front and back. Upload a clear photo or scan of each side. All four corners must be visible, with no glare or blur, and the licence must not be expired. We need both sides for three checks: the barcode, the security features, and any restrictions or conditions on the licence. You cannot submit your application with only one side.
Your privacy. We use the photos of your licence only to check that you may legally make deliveries: that the licence is valid, its class, and any restrictions or conditions. Only the OCSAPP staff who verify drivers can see them; we do not share them with sellers, buyers or anyone outside OCSAPP unless the law requires it. We destroy both photos 12 months after we decide on your licence, and keep only the result of the check (date, outcome, licence class, restrictions or conditions, expiry date). You can access or correct your information, or withdraw your consent, by writing to privacy@ocsapp.ca; without a verified licence, you cannot deliver with a vehicle that requires one. Details: Privacy Policy, sections 6 and 12.
Bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters: they are eligible for B2C orders. A driver's licence is optional for these vehicles; civil liability insurance covering your deliveries is required.
4.What you earn
Every delivery pays a fixed rate, published by zone and shown before you accept. Never adjusted for demand, weather or an algorithm. You keep 70%; the remaining 30% funds dispatch, technology, screening and administration.
| Delivery type | West Island (active) | Laval (coming soon) | Downtown Montreal (coming soon) |
|---|
| Marketplace (B2C): fee | $7.99 | $8.99 | $9.99 |
| Marketplace: your share (70%) | $5.59 | $6.29 | $6.99 |
| Supplier (B2B): fee | $19.00 | $21.00 | $24.00 |
| Supplier: your share (70%) | $13.30 | $14.70 | $16.80 |
Heavier, longer or multi-stop orders: published surcharges are added (oversize, long distance, extra stop), shown before you accept and split 70/30 the same way. Your share in the West Island:
| Surcharge (your share, West Island) | Marketplace | Supplier |
|---|
| Oversize order (base band) | $2.80 | $7.00 |
| Each extra weight band | $1.40 | $3.50 |
| Long distance (base band) | $2.80 | $7.00 |
| Each extra distance band | $1.40 | $3.50 |
| Extra stop | $1.40 | $2.80 |
Tips: tipping isn't active yet. Once it is, OCSAPP will take no cut of your tips; they will be paid into your own Stripe account, and only Stripe's processing fee will come out of them. The amounts above include no tips.
5.How a delivery works
- Accept: you see the pickup, destination, order size and your exact earnings before you accept or decline.
- Pick up: check the contents, confirm pickup and take the requested photo.
- Deliver: hand over the order, confirm delivery and take a photo or signature when requested.
- Returns and exchanges: return pickups may be offered to you, at the same 70/30 split and with the same freedom to accept or decline.
Photos, on every order: they are the evidence used to determine the cause of a shortage, damage or discrepancy. Take them accurately and at the right moment; falsifying or skipping them is a serious violation.
6.Payment and taxes
- Every Monday, by direct deposit, for deliveries completed the previous Monday to Sunday. A detailed statement (job, zone, rate) is available in your dashboard.
- Payout error: report it within 30 days of the payout date.
- Taxes: as a contractor you report your own income. GST and QST registration is mandatory once your revenue passes $30,000 over four consecutive quarters. Consult a professional if needed.
7.Standards and expectations
- Keep to pickup and delivery windows; repeated delays are reviewed.
- Be courteous with shops, suppliers and customers.
- Handle orders with care, especially food and fragile items; report any damage immediately.
- Never open or change an order's contents; report a missing item before leaving the pickup.
- Keep location enabled during an active delivery.
- No phone use while driving: pull over safely before using the dashboard.
8.Founding Driver Program
Reserved for the first 50 approved drivers, automatically on approval, as long as the cohort isn't full:
- A permanent Founding Driver badge on your profile
- A $100 milestone bonus when you complete 20 deliveries in your first 30 days
- A $50 referral bonus for you and for each driver you refer who completes 15 deliveries in their first 30 days, up to 5 referrals (your code is on your dashboard)
- Priority dispatch: new orders are offered to you 60 seconds before other drivers
- An OCSAPP equipment kit, which you can track from your dashboard
Bonuses are paid with your weekly payout, on top of the standard 70/30 split. Spots remaining: ocsapp.ca/founding.
9.Frequently asked questions
Can I choose my hours?
Yes. You set your availability and accept only the deliveries that suit you, with no minimum.
Do surcharges change my 70% split?
No. Every surcharge is split 70/30, exactly like the base fee.
What if the customer isn't there?
Try to reach them, wait a few minutes, photograph the delivery location and report the attempt to the OCSAPP team. Don't leave an order unattended unless that delivery allows it.
